We had a fellow out at Nelson last week. He had a GSXR 750 with air powered retracting training wheels. He normally rode a wheel chair so kudos to him for the intestinal fortitude to get back out on the track! I've only admiration for those folks who do what ever it takes to ride.
Personal opinion. Can't control the vehicle be it age, disability, cognitive issues, maybe it's time to try something else. Its not a jab at disabled people, if a guy can't swim, jumping in the deep end maybe isn't that great of an idea. Of course there are circumstances where it doesn't make much difference. It seems half the population is clinically mentally disabled anyhow.
Bikes require leg strength to hold them up at stops, no everyone has that. Doesn't mean you shouldn't ride.
Agree. If you’re mentally sharp enough (I get that is subjective) to handle the bike still, why stop because your legs or knees aren’t keeping up.
Yeah I saw that guy rolling through the paddock, nothing but admiration for his dedication to get out there
If it has 4 wheels, would it no longer be technically classified as a motorcycle? While the Polaris Slingshot looks like a car, since it only has 3 wheels, it's classified as a motorcycle.
I don’t care if you’re on a freaking scooter as long as you’re enjoying being in the wind, that’s good enough for me...
Ummmm... they do try something else, a trike or a bike with training wheels (I'm gonna call the assist wheels in this case, as it's not like they are using them to learn how to ride like my 2 year old on his bike)
