That must hurt, sliding down the tarmac watching your upright bike go on without you....

Saw this parked near me on a recent ride stop.
It's f'n training wheels! No drive of brake on them.

It’s a trike and it’s designed to allow people to still be able to ride a motorcycle if they might have physical limitations. I have a friend who has one due to nerve damage in his leg from back surgery

It is a fairly common "3" wheeler (actually 4) that allows the training wheels to be removed and convert back to a regular 2 wheeler. A friend had one on his CBX after he lost a leg.

    Sorry about your friends back/leg.

My back surgery actually fixed the pains in my leg years ago.

I realize this can be for the handicapped, and I'm all for that. However, this woman got on and off of this one and walked just fine.
One thing about it, at stop lights, they don't even have to put a foot down.

It's like those 3 wheeled cars thingys. People think they are on a motorcycle, but are some how safer cause it drives more like a car. They probably are safer, especially compared to a corner carver like me.

Yes. There are two kinds of those trikes: purpose built machines with a differential that drives the rear wheels, and conversion kits that are essentially training wheels.

We have friends who got a rig like that about 18 years ago. Wife had developed anemia and couldn't hold her Harley up at stops. Hubby could have the rig off in about 10 minutes to take the bike for a conventional ride if he wanted to. Seemed like a good arrangement to me.

If you need training wheels to ride it may be time to stop riding..

Same here. A friend has a trike due to nerve damage in his legs. I get so tired of the asshole comments that he gets from "friends" about him not riding a "man's bike." He served 6 tours in the first Gulf War (the cause of his nerve damage) and has 3 purple hearts. I think he's more than proven himself to be a man's man.
