Anyone out there know the weight of Pirelli Super Corsa tires as compared to the Michelin Power Cup Evo tires?
Nobody races on a 180/55 they have all been on a 180/60 for like 5 or more years. So why does tire weight matter at all? just asking
Especially bad if its being mounted by someone who doesn't know what they are doing and have to throw on a ton of wheel weight to balance it
I’d like to know if they’re appreciably lighter than the same size Power Cup Evo . I recollect that the Pirelli were about a pound lighter than the Q3 Ditchfinders.
Personally, I choose my tires based on grip and feel. If they are lighter than others, that’s just a bonus. But it isn’t a factor in the decision. But that’s just me. Other opinions may vary.
ok Taylor Knapp recently won some races on Q4s... or did he?? Black, round, and at the correct pressure is all that matters.
I found the heavy spot on my wheels, which was NOT at the valve stem. I marked the spots, and then used those as the reference for tire mounting. I went from needing multiple weights to balance the wheels to (depending on the tire) just needing one stick on or a half of a stick on weight. Bike handling was noticeably improved.
And maybe the OP is doing some other type of racing/ Dragracing or land speed. Feel would matter as much as weight.
I looked around and could only find the weights for the Diablo Supercorsa SP, but hey I don't see anyone posting the weights for the Michelins. Diablo Supercorsa SP Front 120/70R17 9.05 lbs Rear 180/55R17 13.33 lbs Note: the race compound tires are going to be a bit heavier
