So since the beebs is a well known place to get great input and info.

I am installing an inground fiber glass pool, with a spill over spa.
I live up north (Montréal, Canada) Winters do exist here ! :)

So any recommandations on what to use to stick the porcelaine tiles on the spill over spa ?

If needed, tomorrow I'll put up some pics, if it might help.

    Thnx

Ya I know you can research lots... but would like real exprience of people. Not publicity adds from manufactures that claim this or that.

Thnx for the link. Will read into it and had to what I've found those far.

    Anyone else ?
Me tinks I stumped the beebs !!! lol

Nah, not yet. There's probably at least 2 guys on this forum who's day job is to tile fiberglass pools, give them time to reply tonight when they get off work. :)

Not likely, but this is the US Independence Day. When they sober up from all the cheap American beer they'll answer.

I’ll check with my step-dad. He’s been in the pool tile business for YEARS. Might be a few days before I get an answer, though.

What was used to stick the current edge on to the pool?

    On another note:
How many frogs have taken up residence there?

So, I tried. He’s been out of the game too long (7 years) and couldn’t give me specifics. He said it’s a silicone-based caulk-like compound that’s basically a glue. But he couldn’t remember the exact name. Sorry.

Why are you worried about this? Why isn't your pool guy taking care of this?

PL 100 to stick the blocs but I would need glue that will withstand submurgen.

lollll the pool has been in since last november.

Thnx I do appreciate you taking the time.

Cause the SOB said he'd do it and now has back-off from doing it.
So I'm on my own to find the info.
Installing won't be an issue, I just would like to do it ONCE... If I use the wrong glue, it'll come right off come the first winter.

Is that a good answer to why I'm worried about it ??? ;) lol
I'm tryibng to not loose lots of sleep over this but it ain't happening unfortunatly. :(

Have you spoken with a supplier? They can usually tell you what the tile manufacturer recommends.

I have but a bit skeptic on the answer that was given to me. The supplier that I dealt with, doesn't really provide items to pool installers and I figured the items for pool where specialty items.
Wanted a second opinion from the all knowing Beebs :D

My wife's uncle is a pool builder, but he does vinyl liner and gunnite, not fiberglass. We don't have the same extreme cold in GA, so I don't know if his input would be worthwhile.

Call a pool supply store...or if you have purchased the tile already, call the manufacturer's rep. The mfr's web page is usually a decent source.

Indeed... his input might not be what I'd be looking for but you never know. These talk amongs themselves.

I will call the supplier and get a chat with the manager or owner to see if he can point me in the right direction.

Thanx for your time guys, really appreciate it.
