15 years away from the track

I raced with WERA from 2002-2004. I finally got another bike built and ready to give it another go.

I'm wondering if I need to take the racer school again? I definitely remember all of the flags and race procedures. It's just the track time that I'm lacking on. I want to do the practice day on Friday at the Cycle Jam to get back up to speed and then run a few races on Saturday.

Can I just renew my license, throw on an orange shirt and have at it?

Were you novice or expert and have you done anything like track days?

Was bumped to expert because of my V7 regional championship in 02. Stayed novice though because I still raced the modern classes on my old bike.

I haven't been on a track at all since 05.

FWIW, I'll be riding a 2013 YZ450F Supermoto in the Clubman and other lightweight classes.

It hasn’t quite been 15 years for me, but even a discount on the race school would be a nice incentive for “retired” racers to make a small-scale comeback. /$.02
