Anyone going?? I’ll be headed up Working for Sammy. It’s such a badass event and if you’re near Wisconsin, you should totally go!
It's an indoor flat track event in Wisconsin. He appears to be working with Sammy Halbert. He also seems to like the event and suggests you go if you're in the area. No idea why it's named Mama Tried, but I'd like to know.
Merle Haggard song - Mama Tried The first thing I remember knowing, Was a lonesome whistle blowing, And a young un's dream of growing up to ride, On a freight train leaving town, Not knowing where I'm bound, And no one could change my mind but Mama tried One and only rebel child, From a family, meek and mild, My Mama seemed to know what lay in store Despite my Sunday learning, Towards the bad, I kept turning 'Til Mama couldn't hold me anymore I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole. No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried Dear old Daddy, rest his soul, Left my Mom a heavy load, She tried so very hard to fill his shoes Working hours without rest, Wanted me to have the best She tried to raise me right but I refused I turned twenty-one in prison doing life without parole No one could steer me right but Mama tried, Mama tried, Mama tried to raise me better, but her pleading, I denied That leaves only me to blame 'cause Mama tried
BTW - it's a damn good time and worth making a trek for IMHO. Flat out Friday is the indoor flat track race - hooligan style Mama Tried is a chopper / cafe / bobber / tatto / anti - orange county shopper style show. I've seen RC30's right next to water cooled knuckleheads. Pretty neat stuff if you're a gear head.
Will you be around to translate further Robby McBobby aka Dirt Diggler communications? This was very helpful.
I still want to know how this hasn't been a name change yet?!?!?! And how much do I have to contribute to make that happen?
Despite having a lot in common and being able to translate his random musings, I don't even know Mr. Diggler. I suspect some day at a flat track event our paths will cross and we'll have a beer or ten, at which point we'll likely both need translated.
I'm there every year working for my buddy who is racing in the hooligan class. It is always a good time.
