It appears to be thousands of shrimp boats. I figured the sharp edges were shipping lane borders.

 

I find the amazing brightness of Belgium to be really interesting. I thought those countries were all on the green wagon? Apparently not... every square inch of their highway system is lit up all night, every night.

 

I think that’s more an issue of density
