I think that the XR750 maight be even a bit out of your league, based on @Robby-Bobby comment about him not wanting to ride one. I think you should look at the BSA a50r they are selling. You would likely have access to a complete cottage industry within at least the same time zone as the Classic TT if (when) you need to work on it.
The major appeal for me is bringing a Harley to race, though. BSA's, Nortons, etc are "common" over there - the last time an H-D entered an actual race around the TT course, it was 1982. I'm gonna need to find some serious financial backing if I'm gonna make this pipe dream actually happen, though. I got in touch with Rob, Team Obsolete's owner, and he's a pretty freakin cool guy.. listening to his stories made me wanna go get a second mortgage and make it happen right now, lol
Chris, Think about this one it would be perfect for the race. Give me a call if you like, we may be able to work something out. http://forums.13x.com/index.php?threads/rickman-framed-honda-750.357737/
I like your moxie. Let me know if you start down this path as I would love to be involved (if you have room for a hanger-on and general ne'er-do-well)
Pridmore qualified 2nd, Josh Hayes 6th. http://www.roadracingworld.com/news...-pridmore-qualifies-second-at-phillip-island/
Sucks. From the JP43 Training FB page... 'Jason was running 3rd when he highsided on the 2nd lap. He has a broken left leg and shoulder. He's being transported to a hospital for further treatment, we'll keep everyone updated when we know more. He's awake cracking jokes, but really sad to end the weekend like this.'
Michael gilbert posted something about getting gremlins fixed and getting back up there for JP. Not sure if it’s electrical or what. Hayes looked good from what I’m gathering.
