What was that Mazda endurance racer that destroyed the hearing of it's drivers?

Are you thinking of the 787B? That thing was a monster.

And that is why Clarkson put a "W" on there if it was damp :D

Not one anyone takes seriously anyway.
All of them. The rotary platform was always noisy as hell.

Most street cars are set up to push some. It is much easier for a normal driver to recover from a push the to recover from oversteer.

Are there are only two possible track conditions? Are all W the same? No difference between a light drizzle and a monsoon? :Poke::D

Google the Bristol Speed Trials if you wanna see some seriously fast oval cars. Scott Russel even makes an appearance.

No joking. I'll find a pic if I can. They were usually pretty good about waiting to test the higher end cars in better conditions (or retesting if they couldn't wait). They used the W, VW, and S for the celebrity laps.

understood but in regards to the question i feel it may be hard to beat a nascar on an oval because of that.

I think it would be impossible for a street car to be anywhere near a Cup car on any track.

I wonder how much down force would come in to play. Those NASCAR'S slide a lot from what I understand, it's just predictable.
