I'm in no way shape or form defending this stupid law, but nope, it isn't. http://time.com/5376552/how-much-alcohol-to-drink-study/
Canada has been turning into a fascist shithole for a while. This doesn’t surprise me much. Thank Dog we have a Constiution that would put paid to this kind of thing, though the leftos keep trying to shred it.
I'm a Canadian and this was news to me - unbelievable how a law like this could get passed. I'm with the others here who say there is no way this law can proceed and will likely get tossed once a few lawyers get ahold of it. However, for those slagging our Nation - maybe the Pot is calling the kettle black here - you guys sadly have some interesting laws and policies as well... https://apnews.com/19e43295c76d4d249aa51c9f643eb377 "U.S. approved thousands of child bride requests" is the title of the article. A quote: “They are subjected to a lifetime of domestic servitude and rape,” she said. “And the government is not only complicit; they’re stamping this and saying: Go ahead.” So in the U.S. it's okay for a 71 year old to buy and "import" his 16 year old "wife"? Damn...
I've actually seen the video showing government agents escorting these girls somewhere around New York I believe. Will try to hunt it down.
Don't apologize for those of us who are already railing against immigration fraud and abuse, which is what a lot of this is. Marriages of convenience to bring someone here goes on constantly. Bending to the laws of Islamic countries is common.
Marriage isn't governed by federal law while immigration is (how effectively is a different story). Marriage is a state issue. Bring a 12 yo "bride" into most states and see how that goes.
I agree, our nation (Canada) has its share of problems, as do many, but for any American to criticize ANY other nations policies is pretty revealing of their bias, ignorance and arrogance.
It is kind of a 2 way street though. As a Canadian living in the US I see and hear all sorts of criticism and anti US sentiment from people still in Canada. The US definitely does not have a monopoly on bias, ignorance and arrogance. Both countries have a ton of fucked up shit that people should worry about before looking outside their country. The 2 countries are more similar than either group is willing to admit....
I have no problem with Canada...I'll let them deal with their own absurdities. We have our hands full down here.
Don't worry all y'all are safe. When I rule the world I need people to keep the Maple supply flowing.
Well put! While travelling to the US last summer I had what turned into the biggest nightmare of my life and it left a MASSIVE change in mindset for our southern neighbours (not the people/friends I have there, but the laws and how they are enforced). I considered airing out my experience on the Beeb but decided against it as I'm sure it would have quickly devolved into another "If ya don't like how we do things, here's the door..." type discussion which doesn't help anyone. Both countries have our share of issues politically, economically, and socially - our house is huge and made of glass - I'm not about to toss stones at theirs.
Oh, I agree actually I/we shouldn't be throwing any stones. The USA is royally effed up too!! Sharia law, etc. So I take it you are living in Canada now? Sorry you had any nightmares on your travels. I'd like to hear your story of your travels to the USA though. It helps give us a taste of just how messed up our system/laws are often as well.
OK, I'm curious. Most of the folks that I know who have come here to the states for rallies etc have marveled at our relatively lax enforcement of simple laws like speeding, etc. Of course if you "dick" with the man it can change in a hurry. Not knowing anything about what your issue is/was I can't provide any response. All I can say is that in the maybe 10 tickets I've received in 50 years of driving I've never had a truly BAD experience even when I probably deserved it.
