I thought Mongo showed up on site today...

Please tell me he isn’t still driving a Pontiac Aztek?!

 

Not that I know of. But I think deep down he's still heartbroken about it.

 

Lord have mercy....Mongo used to drive one of those abominations? Weren't they voted the ugliest American car to have ever been made.....like in the entire history of car manufacturing?

 

This is appropriately something one should never live down.

 

Mongo survived the indiscretion.

 

He should be made to wear an "A" on his clothes. And when asked, explain it was due to having owned an Aztek.

That car is a goodamn Raquel Welch compared to the Pacer.

I got moved to a Pontiac/GMC dealer towards the end of their run. We were a one price store where you got paid the same no matter the car...except Azteks. If you managed to sell one of those you got paid for two. We had several that hit 550 days in inventory

 

No way. The Mirth Mobile was an AMC Pacer....that alone ranks it not as bad as the Aztec.

He'll come in here, claim it was in Ev's name, and try to deflect.

I remember the year that they used an Aztec as the pace car for the Daytona 200. Dale Quarterley was at the wheel.

 

Boy did he get the shaft.
“Corvette?”

”Camaro?”
”Nope.”
”So what do I get to drive?”
”Asstek. Enjoy. Try not to let the power get away from ya.”

 

My bud had a Gremlin in high school. He was always like "I'll give you a ride". I was always like "no".

 

Now, a Chevette was another matter. Total chick magnet.

 

While the Pacer is, er, peculiar looking, neither of those fine AMC products are anywhere close to as U-G-L-Y as the Aztek.

 

I thought PT Barnum said "Theres a sucker born every minute!" I probably would have told the car carrier to bring them back where they came from if I was the GM.
