    Pilot Flying J's on the way up to Ohio - 1.90.9 cheapest, 2.00.9 most expensive. Sadly the next fill up has to be done here which at best will be 2.05 ish.

    I'm aware but I'm normally in the RV and consistent good fuel along with convenience matters much more than saving a few cents. Although the Pilot/J stuff is alway competitive and my reward card gets me 3-5 cents off a gallon.

    I'm fascinated by the disparity in pricing from area to area.

    Commiefornia I understand, but Phoenix? Why?

    My pops lives in Midland, TX, which is the financial hub of the permian basin, and it's 2.50-2.60 there while I've seen as low as 1.78 here in DFW. And there's a refinery in Big Spring, so you'd think it would be cheap as hell there.

    Could be mistaken but I think state by state disparities are due to gas tax.

    Some of it is tax, some is shipping, some is probably demand. Not sure I've ever seen a real explanation of the parts of a gallon of gas cost, may have to research that.
