In a similar vein I was slightly disappointed after investing $5000 for a year and checking my balance to only find $7! Surely I can find a better way to invest.

These are the steps for the remote start to work:
"It has a safety to prevent it from being activated when in gear it's called a reservation mode.
Basicly[sp] when you park you put your foot on the brake and pull your ebrake up and down twice and on the 2nd one leave it up and let your foot off the brake and you'll hear the doors unlock.

Then just get out and leave the car running.

Within 8ish seconds the car shuts off and now its ready to be remote started later. "

 

Back then, they ate bacon grease, tons of butter, smoked, ate gluten and still lived into their 70's and 80's without issue.
