Funny you should mention that. I saw one last Friday. Didn't pet... it. Nor did I check for the presence or absence of turkey balls.

Weird to see one in the burbs of DFW

  2. I downloaded basecamp and have the Garmin plugged into the computer and turned on. But the computer doesn't see it. It says there is no device.

    What am I doing wrong?

Edit: does it have to be a particular cable that came with the unit? I don't have the box or anything, Rob installed it on the bike before I got there so I never saw the box.

Im using the charging cable that came with my Jabs. It looks the same and plugged in ok. But could that be the problem?

possibly but the garmin may need to be put into a certain mode before the PC can recognize it. garmin also used to have special USB drivers but not sure with the newer stuff.

  4. Hmm, k I’ll keep messing with it.

Turn the garmin off and then turning it back on with it still plugged in. It might need to use the Garmin's "boot sequence" to initiate dialogue with the computer.

There are charge only USB cables that don't have data capability. You should swap and try a different cable.

  7. Thanks guys. I’ll try that.

  8. I was able to find historical data on the Garmin. It’s in an app called “where have I been?”

The problem is that it didn’t show where I missed the turn and went down other roads, or any of the u-turns or anything like that.

In other words, it didn’t show my actual trip, it just showed the trip it had planned for me. It didn’t track/show where I had went off course and it rerouted me.

Look for an app called "where did I fuckup despite having a unit that tells me exactly where the hell to turn? And shit?".

I made a new friend. So technically it wasn’t a fuckup. :moon:

If you have Google Maps in your phone it may be in there, even if you think you shut it off.

How to view your location history in Google Maps

    1. Launch Google Maps.
    2. Tap the more button (three horizontal lines) on the top left corner.
    3. Tap your timeline.
    4. Tap the calendar icon to view a particular day.
    5. Swipe left or right to switch months.
    6. Tap a date to view your location history.

  12. Hmm, I’ll try that.

Don’t look in the Garmin. You need to look in BaseCamp. The ‘tracks’ are only visible in BaseCamp after you have sent the data from the Garmin to your PC.
