Just left the grocery store. I went in for some shrimp, mushrooms, and pasta noodles, and some other crap. I had a pretty decent sized list. I cut through an aisle headed to the meat department. It was the 'ethnic' food aisle. About halfway down something caught my eye and stopped suddenly. I backed up a couple of steps and the sign above that section said "West Indies". I'd never noticed that before. So I looked it over. Kinda interesting stuff. About waist level there was some canned stuff. One can inparticular caught my eye. It was canned mackerel in tomato sauce. I knurled up my face and said "blech". But I was so intrigued I bought one. It was $1.59. And I got a four pack of Bud Light (16oz I ain't no punk). And that was it. Nothing else. I just don't know about me sometimes.
You bought it to give out on those canned food drives, dumbass. People can't just live on creamed corn, lima beans and pumpkin pie filling, gotta change it up. Happy thanksgiving, we got something new!
Is it like sardines? Do you eat them cold out of the can like Beenie Weenies? I love sardines in mustard sauce.
Florida...the westernmost West Indies. Outer Banks...the northernmost West Indies. Either way, the extremes of that region produce some real nutjobs.
Wait.... Hot dogs should be chili, mustard, onion. BUT.... Iffin you don't have chili, then ketchup is an acceptable replacement.
Just back from Norway - ate a bunch of mackerel in tomato sauce (along with other fish). Kinda like sardines, yeah. Grab some crackers and your beer and have at it.
