Butts down and scoop through but on wood not much is gonna work.

Man, bobbleheads are by far the funniest thing to ever hit a pitch. K-2 girls are close though.

I will say we've tried our son in swimming, hockey, gymnastics, karate, etc but by far lacrosse leaves him the most tired. After his practices at night his head hits the pillow and he's out.

Our daughter is in 1st grade but our association doesn't have anything for girls until 3rd, though she does not seem as interested in it so we'll see where it goes.

We used to spend hisho through against our brick front steps as little kids. I had completely forgotten about that.

missed a practice, kids didn't want to go. I let them slide that one, and said next one, I sell everything. They went to the next one.

The girl enjoys it more than the boy. I think I should look into fencing for him instead. I bought a stick to try to help. I'm pretty helpless right now with that.

Anything we can do better with the mouth guard? they both hate wearing it. I think I need to try to boil/refit it again, but also difficult since they are missing some teeth right now.

Be sure to Get the youth sized ones. If you need to cut a bit off the back don't be afraid to do it. We used Shock Doctor Gel Max. They're the cheaper ones and they were great. They make flavored ones but we never tried those. Those Sisu ones work great but I'd steer you away at least for now at least until they get used to a mouth guard.

They will get used to it but it does suck the first few times.

She is using a shock doctor braces one now at 2 to 2.5 times the price of the Gel Max.

so after trying our third mouthpiece, Shock Doctor Gel Max, Shock Doctor Lip Protector/Max Airflow, it seems the Under Armour one is the winner.

    How they liking it? :)

My slow lacrosse season stops this weekend. Travel team practice on Sunday at 8 am. HS (and she's 1.5 years away from HS) scrimmage at noon and her rec league game at 6 PM. Practice 6 days a week, :D

At least I get to sleep in on Saturday for a few weeks until indoor summer league starts.

they seem to liking it more. The girl seems to be really taking to it, especially when she gets a goal, I see her fist pump. On the other hand, my son was last seen lying down on the field. So yeah....

Just wait until they start getting better and better. When passing and catching start getting to the point where they don't even think about it. When their shots on goals start becoming shots places where they want it instead of a 50/50 chance that it might go towards the goal. When the boy starts learning how to seriously check his opponent. That's when it'll become real fun for them. :)
The first year is just learning what to do and getting the basic skills. Year two is when it really becomes fun (that is if they put the work in in the off season).

So, how'd they like Rec lacrosse? :)

The kid's Rec team shit the bed last week and are out but travel tournaments start this weekend. She is has now been recruited to try and play up for HS a year early. A travel team she doesn't play for has "invited" her to play in Colorado and Cali for them.

Gawd, I should have taken her racing, it might actually have been cheaper.

My kid's HS team just won their fourth consecutive section title.

Then they got their ass kicked in the regionals for the fourth straight year in a row, as well

We have one more weekend. not sure we will continue next year, well the boy almost definitely not. The girl maybe, but she's more into softball at the moment. She really wants to pitch in a couple years

We have U15 summer travel right now. Amazing how some of those U15 kids also are sophmores in high school. One FCA team got kicked out for having HS players on their U15 team. Stay classy cheaters.

Be careful with the SISU mouth pieces, they are light and thin, but that may not always be best. My son got cross checked (cheapshotted) by a kid while wearing one and 3 of his 4 front teeth actually broke in half.

The hit was basically a blindside as he was at the end of the shooting motion and stick came up from upper shoulders under the helmet and into his mouth.

Not sure any mouthpiece could have prevented what happened, but he was wearing the sisu and I think / hope that one of the better shock doctor ones would have provided more protection.

just my experience..... and yeh, I know it has to be in correctly to work!!

Under Armour seems to work the best at this stage for my twins. Hopefully we'll never need to know how effective they are.

Unfortunately, where I grew up (I should say, where I spent my first 17 years before moving out on my own), lacrosse wasn't very popular. If we would have had it, I'm sure it would have been something that I would have loved. I also don't have kids. So, the fact that we didn't really know anything about it growing up plus not having kids, it explains why I really didn't know too much about it, nor did I care. Then a co-worker had a son who played for ND and I watched a few games on TV. I'm still trying to figure out some of the rules, but, I kinda dig it. The announcers on TV are typically pretty cheesy, but, I'm sure some outsiders (and some insiders) say the same about GW and JP.
Biggest thing I'm trying to figure out is who gets the ball when it goes out of bounds. I assume it has something to do with everyone racing towards the sideline with their stick in the air. Is it like 'hey...i'm closest, so, it's mine'? But, sometimes no one races towards the sideline.
Why the different length sticks? Does something say you have to have so many of each kind?
Seems like the face off guys have it pretty easy. Kinda like kickers in football. They're not in the game that much, but, when they are, they gotta do good. But, why do teams have multiple face off guys? If someone wins all of the face offs, and if they're a 'faceoff specialist', why swap him out?
As much as I wish I would have played, I don't think I would have lasted long. I don't think I could have the amount of restraint that they often show. Can't believe there aren't more fights.
