Costco Brand is Interstate. Always upgrade in size when possible. They didn't have my Tacoma battery, it's ridiculous in size for that small of a truck but they carry just about everything.
Now they are built in Mexico and I have heard quality suffered a bit. The last Optima I bought lasted 8 years, before the manufacturing move.
just did some googling and yeah, that seems to be what happened. over the last few years, they are no longer good for more than a couple years
Yep. Johnson Controls makes them, and they are good batteries. Now, if you’re building a show car and want cool, or need killer cranking amps for a high compression engine buy an Optima.
This pretty much summed it up for me now. Sucks to see Optima go down the tubes. Obviously from the internet, so it's true. "I work for Johnson Controls, so I can buy Optima batteries at cost. At the price I pay for them, they are worth it. Otherwise, I wouldn't buy them, I don't think they are anything special"
^^^^ Bingo, their warranty has been reduced also. I heard that Shorai is hoping to have car batteries out in the near future.
Whatever they sell at Advance Auto. The batteries have served me well and the parts monkeys have been great about replacement if they do crap out early.
But seriously, why are we talking batteries. Just replace the entire car. They come with new batteries
If by "no shits given on price" means you'll pay out the nose for a battery that won't fuck up, there's only one choice... ODYSSEY battery - Official Manufacturer's Site
