This thing runs like shit. Too rich, no real hit and its dead on top. WTF. It has a new mikuni carb for 17' . All my other KTM had Kehiens. Anybody here buy one of these turds? So much info out there on jetting I'm just lost in space. I really hate this thing.

Sounds like a lemon, I'd throw it out and buy another.

You buy every cool thing known to man, but you don't have have a mechanic to deal with jetting?

Hey Bocarp, I'd like to apply for the job. 20 years of running a shop, I'll keep your stuff ready to go. Of coarse I'll need to do test rides... :D

That was exactly my thought. Set and forget. Well, find the right rod, but that's it.

    Fuck a lectron.

Those are a torquey motor. They don't want to "rev" like an Sx motor.

I had to mess with mine for a while (17 Husqvarna TX 300, same motor) I went to the S1 needle jet and seemed to make the most difference. I'm at sea level about 90* but it's a place to start.

    43-73 needle pos 2
    37.5 pilot
    450 main
    S1 needle jet

Skip the Leccy, go to the next evolution ala the SmartCarb.

I ran the DJ on my 2005 300 mxc when I was running gncc, they are nice and come with a good baseline setting.

I heard you need to change out the reeds. They are garbage stock on the 17’s and can cause issues that seem like jetting issues.

    Sweatypants I am so smart! S-M-R-T... I mean S-M-A-R-T!

i'm sure that'll be just....... fine.

yes!...much better. still a bit fat on the 1/4 throttle. how do you get rid of that?

There might be better options, but I would try to drop the needle, which means raise the clip up higher on the needle.

It's a give and take and still not perfect. I was getting decent results tuning with the air screw after those settings but you can try a smaller pilot. With a 35 pilot I felt a little lean when steady 1/4 throttle cruising on fire roads but depending on your weather it may work.
