Punta Cana Dominican Republic

Anybody on here been? I'm headed there second week of December anything I should for sure check out or do.

 

Was there for my weddingmoon in 2011, was a lot of fun. Definitely get out to do some excursions. We visited coffee, sugar, cocoa, tobacco plantations. All very touristy but was still a nice break from laying around the pool listening to corny music all day.

 

If you want to go into the city, skip the tours. Hire a reputable cab for the day. cost only a few bucks more than a tour and you get a private driver. Ours was awesome, took us all around and was a cool dude. We went down into the local market. I bought two 2-ft long cinnamon sticks for 50cents...shits expensive here...haha

The dune-buggy/go cart tour was fun. I would do that again as well. The zipline thing was ok, nothing special.

 

Do the go cart tour that ends up at the blue hole (swimming hole) at the end. It was pretty awesome

What kind of hurricane damage did the location you are planning to go to sustain?

 

I think they were well south of the storms.

 

I've been but the extent of my exploring was only walking the beach a few miles in each direction. Its a nice place, but everyone is hungry for tips/money, unlike in Mexico where they don't usually ask, they are a aggressive asking for $$.

Pummeled or Puerto Rico'd? I got the feeling that it wasn't any worse than other hurricanes. Hoping it's back to normal before February

GF and I went in 2015. Absolutely loved it. We stayed at the Iberostar.

 

We stayed at the Paradises... All inclusive is the way to go for sure...

 

Loved it in Feb but not so much to do off resort. On resort is fabulous! We stayed Secrets Royal Beach.

 

I went in February and had kidney stones for 5 days!! It was great!! Lmao

 

Yea it's a company paid all inclusive trip from my wife's work. I believe we are going to charter a boat one day also. Chase some pelagics
