Just ordered my 2nd contour 3 days ago. I just cant get over the square size of the go pro.I like the pen cams, and the contour serves the purpose, minus wind noise.
I have 2 original Hero's, cases, back screen viewer, extra crap, etc, I dont use them anymore I'll make you a deal
make sure you get a good microSD card. i would suggest buying one of the tested/verified/supported models they list on their website. if you ever plan on recording at 4k resolution, make sure you get the U3 card. shop around and you can find them cheaper on Amazon.
Because I got the basic Hero Session not the 5 it doesn't do 4K. I didn't really care about that high quality video for now. I did buy one of the 100 mb/s cards that was listed in amazon as commonly bought though for the one in getting. If I get really into it I may look to get a second one that does higher video.
I'm in the market for a new GoPro and was wondering what you Session owners think of the battery life?
Damn ya'll. First place I looked was classifieds out of curiosity. Maybe if I'm looking for a second I'll just post and ask if anyone has one to sell first.
depends if you keep your connection setting on for phone streaming. if you keep it off, you can get a race weekend with it. i can record both practice sessions and 2-3 races each day and still have battery life. i think i've done 6 track day sessions and a race day with practice as well.
My GoOros failed so many times I wuit using them. GoOro is a marketing company that just happens to make cameras. Contours are awesome. Ride safe, AAron
Have nothing but good things to say about the basic Hero (the one that came out two or three years ago). No 4k, but 1080/30fps, battery life lasts about 12 TD sessions, and has held up to two high-sides (one of which sent it across the pavement). Never had an issue with it.
Any suggestions on decent editing software? I have the GoPro program but it can't seem to recognize the files I saved to an Apple computer. Also something that would be good for editing on a PC.
I'll probably get roasted here, but I have found Windows Movie Maker to be pretty easy to use. I can't recommend anything for Apple, but you might have to convert the file type or get a fancy software to do the work. There is a thread somewhere in this particular forum regarding editing software recommendations, I can't imagine the software has changed too much since we had the discussion.
