everyone knows me knows I always have some with me, but I wanted to try make some myself. Has anyone truly tried it and what were your results?
Nope never done it. But if you were going to here is a good place for information: http://homedistiller.org/forum/index.php
Being in Georgia I'm surrounded by some of the best shine and homemade wine around. Its so easy to get it makes it not really worth the trouble to make my own.
I live close to mountains of va and nc so getting it no problem for me either I just was looking for a new hobby.
I have 2 friends that started with wine and transitioned to shine. I also have a few friends that make some great beer. Seems like a fun hobby but pretty time consuming.
First off, nobody in NC calls it moonshine. It's called white liquor. My cousins make it and those boys have gotten so good at it they now have sealed gallon jugs lol. Only hipsters and tv shows call it shine.
funny! last couple times I have bought gallons it was sealed milk jugs. I may be getting it from them lol
A lot of people anymore. Shit man, you can buy it in the state stores here and some bars have it (at least the few bars I've been in and paid any attention to the browns and clears).
Like the race shop vs do it your self thread. You got the tools and know how, have at it. Or, if you're like me, you know your limitations. I make my own spaghetti sauce, but get the clear stuff from some forth generation makers.
