Thinking of storing my 05 GSXR in my office for the winter. Full of fluids, hooked to a battery tender. Will there be gas odor or any other unpleasantness?
Unless it leaks or gets so dang hot in your office that the fuel cap is venting, I don't see it being an issue. I would park it on something to protect the floor from any possible fluid, but I think odors wouldn't be a problem.
Just plug the exhaust, other than that you'll be fine. I kept a couple bikes in my bedroom over the winter back in college, stuffed a plastic bag in the exhaust tip and it didn't smell a bit.
I have had a few racebikes on display in my office. (Graves R1, Yosh and Attack bikes) Drain the fuel, tank and lines. Plug up intake and exhaust, remove battery. Sit on them occasionally and make vroom vroom noises
This is sitting next to my desk.. And yes, I pushed it up that flight of steps..one day I'll sand and paint...maybe...i drained the gas..the pipes don't smell at all..if you're in a commercial building, you're fire Marshall might be a little cranky about gas being in it..they can't touch anything though, but they can ask you to open the cap..worst case, theyll tell you to get rid of it. in Boston no gas in tanks on bikes..the tank had to be off of the bike. But sitting on the ground next to out was fine. (?) Never understood that.
Not married. My girlfriend pretty much lives with me and doesn't care about the bikes being inside. Three of these bikes are getting sold soon and I do have plans to build an attached garage, so this isn't a permanent situation.
I kept my racebike in the spare bedroom in college during the winter. I drained the tank and that was it.
Custom made mount (yes Pit Bull), it's Bill St Johns bike and office and I can't find the picture anywhere either
