Several people on here have used Shell Rotella and speak highly of it, which version is being used, T6 the full synthetic or T5 the semi-synthetic? Any clutch problems?

I've only used T6 in my 96 1100GS and have not noticed any clutch issues.

    T6. Fully compatible. No issues.

Rotella T conventional. Race bikes and dirt bikes, never had an issue.

I think you can use either really, but I've always used T6 in both my street and race bikes....no problems to speak of.

i think both work, but for a little more, get the t6. I have seen a few oil tests, and the T6 tests just into the top 25% of the oils that were tested for sheer (some bearing test where there's a weighted bearing then something spinning another bearing, wear is measured) . The T was in the lower 75%

    Steeltoe What's my move?

Been using the T6 for over a decade no problems. This summer I tried the 15W conventional for shittes n giggles and I feel it shifts better.

Funny you mention that. I've been using T6 on my bikes since it came out, but I've tried Repsol oil and thought it shifted better. But I thought it may have been in my head, and didn't want to bring it up here since Rotella is God round these parts.

How often do you have to change that stuff?

  20. You don't, you just add more when the light comes on.
