Bernie Sanders: What he's really about, in his own words

Discussion in 'The Dungeon' started by The Dung Beetle, Aug 11, 2015.

  1. It says something great about me.

All of the following are realistically possible, despite what you've been programmed to think: moving towards $15 minimum wage, ending the drug war, lessening the impact of police brutality, using war only as a last resort, eliminating tax loopholes for the wealthy, and single payer health care.

I know you are OLD and stuck in your ways Orvis, but you do know there are other choices besides picking one side of the two headed snake, right? :)

Point out to me the last time voting for the lesser of two evils did anything more than send us further down the hole. I know though keep doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results cause it has worked out so great up until this point.

It says you are an exremely partisan idealist that is not very well grounded. Magic flying puppies and all...:D

All of the substance issues you listed is going to either increase costs, decrease government revenue or affect level of service. Most likely a combination of all 3. And it is the shrinking middle class that will bear the brunt of it. I guess when the middle is pushed down low enough everyone will be "middle" class, right?
I agree with the war as a last resort and ending the WOD, and "lessening the impact of police brutality" is one of those idealistic sound bites that appeals to the social justice warriors but really does not mean much. When every police interaction is scrutinized with the assumption that the cops did something wrong you get Bodymore today where people are crying about lack of policing. You can't have it both ways but you sure are not scared to demand it!

Both parties are driving us in to the ditch. Does it really matter if it is the left ditch or the right ditch?

Funny thing is, as much as some of your guys make fun of those who vote for third-party candidates, in any given presidential election their vote matters just as little as those who back the losing establishment candidate. Those of you who cast ballots for McCain and Romney have no no business being condescending to Ganja Dude. :D

Yeah I think it does. I'd rather be in the left ditch..... at least there we can smoke, drink and watch porn. If the country's goin down the toilet might as well make it a party.

But remember, to get in to the left ditch you need to cross a lane of oncoming traffic!:D
And the far right does drink, smoke and watch porn. They are just a bit sneakier about it.:D

Just make sure you over pay for your health insurance, don't want to own a weapon, are ok with government controlling you life and being spied on (both sides), and you are good to go. ;)

I'm good on health ins, don't need anyone's permission to own a gun and they can't control shit outside of the electronic world.

I don't need to sneak around to do any of that because I (unlike most) am not ashamed of what I do.

Do as I say, not as I do.

  17. Bernie doesn't mind if you own a few AKs as long as you're not certifiably insane.

I just know most people's (people that already had insurance) rates went way up after the ACA was enacted. Might not need anyone's permission, if a good percentage of dem politicians and voters had their way though it would be against the law for anyone other than them to own one. They might not be able to control it, but I'm guessing there is no way you can avoid every camera in the world or even not using a phone from time to time, again it's not what they control it is how much of what you currently do could be considered illegal by our so called leaders/protectors.

I think overall you are just playing devils advocate for the hell of it, I'll play along though got nothing better to do for a few minutes.

Bernie hasn't jumped on the being able to sue gun manufactures band wagon?

  20. I believe he did vote yes on that, but that's not taking your guns away. He's been criticized by some on the left, and Hill Dog in particular, for being too lax on gun control.

Edit: actually I think I have it backwards. He voted to protect gun manufacturers from any potential lawsuits stemming from mass shootings.
