Bernie Sanders: What he's really about, in his own words

Many of you wont watch this video, because you just want to dismiss him as some kind of communist who wants to turn this country into a new version of the USSR. He's far from that. He's a democratic socialist. Hopefully those of you with open minds will watch the video, and see what he's actually about, since the mainstream media is still largely ignoring him.

Many of you want tight border control. He's 100% for that.

Many of you want politicians that aren't slaves to the big corporations. He absolutely is not bought by them.

Some of you are concerned with the erosion of the middle class. Reversing that is one of his major goals.

He understands that at times we may have to go to war, but that it should be the last resort. He believes that we should go to war with Iran if that becomes necessary to stop them from building a nuclear weapon. He also wants us to take better care of our veterans.

He supports Israel's right to exist, but says that we should be even handed in our support.

He's for energy efficiency and sustainable energy. He listens to what the scientists are saying about our role in causing climate change. Many of you are against that.

He's for instituting trade policies that work for the American worker and help bring manufacturing back to this country, while keeping the manufacturing we already have here.

He's for helping raise standards of living around the world, but not at the expense of standards of living here.

I've listened to the Republican front runners, and I've listened to Hillary. None of them make nearly as much sense to me as Bernie does. IMO, he's for the American people to a much greater degree than any of the others are. I believe Bernie can lead us into a new, great era.

I won't watch the video or read your post beyond "many of you" because you're a loon. A Socialist loon. :D

  3. Damn you Dave K! Watch it! Im sure you'll be on a transatlantic flight with wifi and time to kill sometime soon.:D

And unlike Trump, he doesn't talk about how terrible the Mexicans are, while simultaneously manufacturing a lot of his goods in Mexico!

    From his website:
"Bernie Sanders is serving his second term in the U.S. Senate after winning re-election in 2012 with 71 percent of the vote. His previous 16 years in the House of Representatives make him the longest serving independent member of Congress in American history. "

So the fact that he is a carrier politician alone makes me not want to vote for him. I am sick of people who have spent their entire life in politics (meaning that he is part of the established problem) thinking that they know how to fix things. He has been part of the government that has passed bills that made the issues that the US is facing, but he knows how to fix it. Ok.

I think it's kinda cute that the left has a Ron Paul of their own.

Maggie Thatcher has already said all there is to say about socialism. I see no need for further discussion.

Conquest lived to see a current U.S. presidential candidate, a senator, who had chosen, surely as an ideological gesture, to spend his honeymoon in the Soviet Union in 1988.

Incorrect. He was traveling with his wife and ten other people on a Sister City project. There are plenty of reasons to not like Sanders. Will's repeating a falsehood is not necessary.

He could be the love child of che guevara and jane fonda and I'd vote for him before Hillary.

But luckily I'll have Trump to vote for.

  10. He's not an advocate for pure socialism. He's a democratic socialist.

Prove it. I think I'll go with George Wills subject knowledge over yours.

  12. You're always the most eloquent of posters:D, but do you think the Trumpster will make it that far?

Did you hear Donald Stoner's whining tactics? “I do whine because I want to win and I’m not happy about not winning,” Trump said on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday. “And I am a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win.”

When people make ridiculous accusations, the burden of proof rests on them.

Dude, Trump will be out in 6 months. The media is after him and he'll implode.

I also see Hillary melting down. She can't keep the lid on all her misdeeds, lies and dirty tricks, not for 18 months, not anymore.

She should be indicted soon if there any resemblance of a justice system left in our country.

Does that mean he has access to an inexhaustible supply of other people's money?

No. A fact was stated which you disagree with. It is you who needs to show the fact is not true. Let's see. who is more likely to be right concerning political history, George Will or a guy who plays records for a living?
I'm betting George is on top of his facts here.
As usual, the liberal must not see the facts that fly in the face of his beliefs.

  17. Nope. But I'm struggling to remember any president in my lifetime that didn't spend a bunch of other people's money. He wants to spend more on rebuilding the infrastructure, and educating people. Not on unnecessary wars. Watch the video and hear what he has to say before you dismiss him strictly based on what others have said about him.

Your definition of what a fact is must be pretty deficient. What you said is a baseless accusation. Not a fact. Liberals aren't the only ones who can see through that BS. Even Fonda can! Does driving people around for a living make you unable to understand the difference between a fact and bullshit?

If a politician says it, it is bullshit. A democratic socialist? So he is for getting out of unnecessary wars, then what? Is he going to take the money that is earmarked for them and give to illegals and the welfare state? You know, to fix the income gap? He is a career politician. He is part of the problem.
