I didn't see it obviously posted anywhere. Opposition leader in Russia assassinated within spitting distance of the Kremlin. Guess Putin's not happy with simply locking people up anymore. The nail that stands up will be pounded down.
Yeah, I was looking for the thread too. The funny part is that Pootain supposedly pledged to oversee the investigation personally. Ain't that a hoot.
Why would a guy with an 86% approval rating need to off the opposition? Who's to gain in all this really?
I don't know that it has so much to do with gaining as it does not losing. At least, that's my assumption.
You don't really believe the 86% approval rating do you ? People aren't usually to honest in polls about their leaders in a dictatorship where the opposition gets wacked or disappears.
If Putin wanted that guy gone he'd have dissapeared in the night. Public assasination like that , its anyone but Putin. Its someone trying hard to place this at Putins feet.
Unless it was a message or the guy was whacked for another reason? Maybe Putin, maybe mobsters whom he crossed. There was a guy who talked about Russia's Perimeter system and died falling down some stairs not too long after. That seems like it'd be more Putin's style. He's a smart dictator.
I'd say disappearance or an accident is more fear inducing to a large degree. When it's as blatant as being shot dead in the street it seems unreal. Disappearance I think makes people more fearful. Would anyone remember jimmy Hoffa if he'd been shot in the street like a dog instead of disappeared?
