I have a TZ250 tank with a 2" dent. Who is doing repairs without using Bondo? Probably involves cutting out the bottom of the tank, repairing, then welding the bottom back in.

Vince, thanks, but I think he gets something like $400. Looking for maybe someone a bit more affordable.

Why not try a paintless dent repair guy that works on cars? They could probably go through the gas cap area to work the dent out.

Shoot me some pics in the AM, and I'll give you a good quote what it will take. The most realistic/economical option would probably be to fix it to 95% perfect with metal-work, and then just put a paper thin coat of metal glaze on it, prime it and paint in. Anyone talented enough to work that back to perfect metal, with the equipment and experience to do so, is going to have to get paid something fair.

Shoot me some pics in the AM and I'll let you know what we can do. On stuff like that, I work with my great friend Clay (Atom Bomb Customs). He's the metal magician, and I do the finish work and paint. ([email protected]).

If you need some references, you can check the metal-work on Eslick's Daytona 200 winning tanks, or a bunch of killer, hand-made tanks and parts done at AtomBomb.

Resurrecting an old thread... My TZ125's tank needs a new front mounting flange fabbed up and welded on. D-swens: can you and your neighbor do that sort of repair?
