Not the first time. Looks like Beach won it in 2008 and Gagne in 2010. Unfortunatly, actually winning the cup doesn't seem to open too many international opportunities, at least for Americans
Yeah. What's up with that? Looks like the cup has 24 riders competing each year. Guess they fill the rest of the 12 spots with pre-chosen Spaniards and Italians
I know and also Cameron Beaubier also got in and was teamed with the MM93. I'm just happy the US has another rider in, IIRC last year we did not have any one get in.
The Buzz on Facebook is that some of the other Americans are not very pleased with the situation. I'm gathering that the choices didnt have much to do with lap times.
I have no clue. Just been reading some posts from folks who were there. Not putting much weight into any of it. Theres no "rules" or anything that the judges are looking for in that deal. Its like the Olympic gymnastics of motorcycle racing. I really REALLY hate to see these kids judged on anything but laptimes. They have lived and died by laptimes their whole lives and know how to deal with that, having a kid go out and ride his ass off and be fast and told no for an unknown reason or opinion would be hard to process.
