My boss and I were talking about suv's. His wife is bugging him about getting a new one. I'm drawing a blank. What's out there, 3rd row, lots of room, made in the last two or three years? Suburban/Tahoe Expedition Infiniti QX-? Nissan Armada Mercedes GL Toyota Sequoia Lexus LX-? What else?
Looks like a pretty complete list , not sure if the Volvo,Tourag or Audi's have the 3rd row option. Seems like the Tahoe / Suburban are the sound tickets right now - resale is just silly on those things.
I that's pretty much it for the big ones, but, there are some additional variations. Caddy Escalade is a variation of the Suburban/Tahoe as is GMC Yukon Lincoln Navigator is a variation of the Expedition Toyota Land Cruiser is a variation of the Lexus LX There are also the smaller ones that have 3rd row Explorer (I think the largest of the non-large SUVs) Pilot MDX Highlander CX-9 Q7 XC-90 QX60 I'm sure there are others I'm missing.
It's going to be an giant minivan. It'll drive from their house, to the school, to the weekend soccer games. He says she needs a minivan but refuses to accept it.
Then the CX9 is your truck. Great around town, handles better than such a fat pig should. Also a great highway cruiser to eat up miles with a car load of snot factories. Gas mileage is meh on it though.
Not sure if it's meets the 'big" title but it has a 3rd row; Dodge Durango. I'm impressed with mine so far
I briefly considered a tahoe until I saw that they have no cargo capacity and the surbarban was way too big for the family needs.
We were thinking about a few larger size SUV's and settled with an Acadia mainly due to how big it is inside.
My last trip to Vegas we drove to Detroit in a buddies Acadia, then rented a Yukon in Vegas. The luggage that easily fit in the Acadia barely fit in the Yukon. It was all behind the rear row seat in the Acadia, and in the 3rd row on the Yukon. I love the look of the Acadia Denali.
The tahoe and the suburban have 3rd row seats. The issue is with the 3rd row seats in a tahoe in, you have absolutely no trunk space. And they don't fold flat so you have to remove the whole seat to really make a difference. The Acadia and the Traverse are basically the same vehicle minus aesthetics but the 3rd row folds flat (though you have some trunk space with them up too) It's basically a minivan/suv crossover. The acadia is miles better looking than the traverse though.
