Anybody have a recommendation for a good portable speaker? Looking for rechargable, only need a 3.5mm input, and doesn't need to be small or super portable since it will be used on the porch and the pond dock.
I have tried a fair amount of them. For a small battery powered, this guy is hard to beat.. http://www.rakuten.com/prod/altec-l...-supported/228256084.html?listingId=221906620 On the rechargeable scale, I had good luck with the Virgin Boomtube but the batteries crapped out a bit too soon for me and you can't replace them http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1763993,00.asp Now I just use my Bose Sounddock. I don't have the rechargeable model, but I'm sure it kicks just as good as my hard wired version. Plus it has a remote which is very handy.
If you are using an iPhone/iPod look at the Ion Tailgater. Great sound, it charges your iPhone or iPod, has a microphone so u can use it as a PA system, also has AM/FM radio sobi used it at the track to listen to the announcements over the radio. It is rechargeable and the battery last forever. I have never actually lost a complete charge. I used my for 8+ hrs once. http://www.ionaudio.com/products/details/tailgater-am-fm Look on amazon to read reviews and also find a great price. Ride safe, AAron
Keep the ideas coming. I hadn't heard of a couple that have been mentioned, so I did a search on boombotix. Interesting speaker but a review I read rated this one over the boombotix. http://www.scosche.com/boombottle-weatherproof-wireless-portable-speaker-grey There are so many out there it is hard to keep track.
I love the jambox. I have the larger size and the battery lasts forever. Take it to the track, the park and in the shower. The buttons even work to fast forward to the next pandora song or song on your track list. I've used it at a conference call device and that works really well too.
Same here, we have the big Jambox, never got close to draining the battery. We love the thing for the beach.
I got the EcoXgear EcoXBT last year for my wife and we've liked it. It's waterproof, so it's pretty ideal for pools, tubing, rain, oil rigs, etc...
How well will you be able to hear these small speakers at the track? I use a buddy's mini-boombox now, and it can be a little hard to hear with typical pit noises sometimes.
under $15 and works pretty well. you can daisy chain them if you want more sound. works fine on my phone with pandora or whatever else. not super hi-fi but when I want more than the speaker on the phone, or ultra portable, it's what I use.. MonoPrice Speaker
The jambox goes very loud. Works well at the track. I like that I can keep the playing device (phone or iPad) locked away because it works on Bluetooth
Once you pull the trigger on this (Samson Expedition XP40iw (XP40iw), you will be AMAZED and the COOLEST guy around! LOL.... I bring mines to the track to get my groove on afterwards while drinking some cold Budweiser's Black Crowns. This mofo Jams and is clear as hell with great BASS. Very well built and can be used for many applications. I use it for cookouts, beach festivities, house parties, weddings, bedroom loving and hard pumpin, and as a guitar amplifier. I absolutely love its compact size. You can even place it on a tripod if you wish. I have yet to run the battery down but have used it non-stop for 5 hours with juice to burn so I have no clue how long it can run on battery power. The onboard EQ is amazing because I can adjust the bass and treble accordingly. Kinda pricey but if you want good shit, you have to spend the dough! BTW... 40 Watts! http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/portable-pa/expedition/xp40iw/
Samson makes some awesome stuff, for not too much coin. I use one of their mics to do the show and it is flawless. http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/microphones/usb-microphones/c03upak/ -jim
i use the jambox at work when i have to be out of the garage and inside a boat or something. works awesome.
My cousin starting making these when he came back to civilian life. Not sure how much, but I love mine. http://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=315558548590474&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&_rdr
