09zx6 - Rectifier placement...

My buddy is just about finished with his 09zx6 and there is some concern about the location of the rectifier as it came from factory. Where is everyone relocating? I've seen some moved up by the Ram Air...but it doesn't seem like the best location. Any help appreciated.

I can't remember exactly how I did mine on my last 09 ZX-6R but i made a bracket out of aluminum and attached somewhere near the rad cap. It was protected and had a little 'cubby' spot in the body work.

You could also try to source a KIT mount.

Thanks for the info...I'll look at the bike tomorrow and see if I can sort something out by the rad cap. Any other ideas appreciated.

 

Self-tapping screw right beneath the ram air.

 

I mounted mine on the frame just behind the neck......no way to get it damaged in a crash.......

 

Just make sure there's some air flowing past it. I drilled a few holes under the nose of my bodywork to get a little air to flow past it by the ram air.

 

The kit location is under the battery tray.
