Ok, it is a bit NASCAR in that the top ten riders battle for it, but $60,000 on top of the $10,000 for each race is great. What do all of you think about the way DMG is doing this? Check the article on Roadrace World breaking news.
I miss the old battle of the twins races....when for a manufacture to win bragging rights they had to earn it. If you can't beat anyone else....beat yourself. HD will spin it like they beat the others, like Dunlop did. That said, more money is always good. JMHO Joe
:crackhead: I am the last person to be a Harley fanboi; this series is less about the manufacturer than it is about awesome, bar-banging racing. Look at Kyle Wyman's margin of victory @ Daytona: the competition is extremely clos and the machines more or less equal. In the end, it comes down to the rider. It is truly a "may the best man win scenario." I have an intense dislike for Harley Davidson, but good on them for supporting this series. It is dammed good racing.
I remember the days of the Bostrom brothers banging bars with A-A-Ron Yates and Barnes and Zampach in the old 883 class. Those were often the most entertaining races of the weekends.
I am working on a two-bike rental program right now. Bikes are being built to the same spec as my race bikes, and may be available as early as Road Atlanta. Expect a press release on this in the coming weeks!
any one know which day they'll run the XR races at Road Atlanta? i haven't been able to find a schedule yet. that's really the only race i'm interested in going to see.
Like every other AMA race it is on the AMA Pro Page. http://www.amaproracing.com/assets/2012-AMA-Pro-Rd-Atlanta-Schedule.pdf
yeah, i found that link earlier but i think somethings up with my 'puter. it takes forever to open PDF links for some reason. can i get a brief cliff notes summary?
