Ok New Englanders, where do I get the best Steamed Cheese Burgers (called Trilbes in CT). I will be up there soon and value the locals opinion. I usually stop at Teds in Merridan CT. I will be up to Maine also. I don't know if they are popular there.
They showed one in Hamburger America but I don't remember the specifics. Looks like they have a phone app now which might be handy for a traveler.
Darren said something about a cheeseburger on a doughnut this morning and now that is all I can think about.
They had those at the local fair a few years ago. We're the home of Krispy Kreme and they didn't even last here very long.
what's that in your kitchen? aurora borealis. aurora borealis? at this time of year? in this part of the country? confined solely to your kitchen? uh huh. may i see it? nope.
Never saw steamed cheeseburgers on my trip to Maine. But i did get absolutely sick on a metric shit ton of Lobster and Chow-duh.
I don't believe I've ever seen a White Castle in Maine. If they do exist, they'll be in Portland, maybe Bangor and Augusta. Lewiston/Auburn *possibly*. If you're going to ME for the tourism, you'll never come across them. You will, however, come across a whole lotta quaint little restaurants all up and down the coast. Moody's Diner in Waldoboro is a must-see, especially if you've ever heard Tim Sample's skit on it. As for Sarah's cheeseburger on a donut posts, I don't think I can swing a trip to the GNF this year. Sarah's gonna be too preggers to be comfortable for that long a drive, and far too bitchy that she can't have one.
Nope, no White Castles here. Not a one. Haven't seen a single boxed miracle of flavor since I moved outta Jersey.
No kidding. If you cant smell the meat charring on a grill and a hint of wood smoke it isnt really a proper hamburger.
