I've got a hankerin for a 1000cc twin for 80% trackday 20% race (if that makes sense) use. Not interested in going the Duc route again. What sez the beeb? Seems to be loads of good finds for around the same money.
The rc51 is a better pacakge out of the box, but I love throwing my tlr around the track now that I have a new rear suspension.
i was in the same boat. i have a gsxr 1k, and an sv. but wanted a big twin. got an awesome deal for an rc.
for the track as already stated the RC is a better platform to start with BUT it aint a suzuki . I love my TLR on the street even tho i dont ride it much , this winter its getting upgrades for the track cause i bet it will be a blast to ride hard TLR all the way
Either one of those TL's are awesome. I know Glenn from the TL site, have spoken a few times, great guy and absolutely amazing bike.
Or this...http://www.speedzilla.com/forums/honda-sport-twins-classifieds/62675-2003-rc51-castrol-replica.html RC all the way
+1 for glenn. you should see how much time he takes on a race weekend maing sure his RC is looking and running perfect.
Gotta be honest, 51 was what I set out for, but then I remembered how much I loved my street TL-S. Still kinda kicking this around, and probably not in "buy mode" until dec-jan. Just grabbing intel at this point. Keep the pros/cons coming.
I've had both and favored the TLR . Always felt I sat "on" the RC whilst "in" the TLR. Both have V Twin boogie and are a blast to ride. (Now....insert shameless sales post here...) http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=264567
