I need some cooking advice. My nanner peppers are ready for eat-n. I need a good procedure for making batter. Something that is good for mushrooms and onion rings too.
well i aint good at cookin but im good at eatin,i seen my boss use this batter called "drakes" that he use to deep fry everything in... i think he just mixed with water and coated it and threw it in the fryer and that is delicious on everything we through in there lol
Onion rings: Large Vidalia onion. Cut into 1/8" ~ 1/4" rings, drop it in buttermilk and leave them in there for an hour or two. Drop the onions rings into flour and then into hot peanut oil. K.I.S.S.
2 eggs separated, 1 cup flour, 1 cup beer, 1 tablespoon salt. 1 teaspoon paprika. Combine all the ingredients except the egg whites and mix. Let stand overnight. Just before use, add in the egg whites. Use peanut oil. It's the bestus.
In regards to peanut oil, the allergens that most people are allergic to (the ones that are allergic at least) is contained in the protein not the oil. So in other words most of the time even if you are allergic to peanuts, peanut oil should be safe to use.
If you have any decent hot peppers slit the tips and pan fry till they are a lil soft and then top with salt and lime juice. Any good mexican joint can make you chiles torreados if you ask, they are delish!
Venom... must... read... recipe... more... carefully. Hey, you ever crack open an egg that maybe aged a bit too much and there a really small, bony, jurassic park looking chicken embryo attached to the yolk?
Yes, beer is not a plus, but a must. Not some sissy beer either. A good IPA. Buttermilk – WTF?? Sound like something that I should try. Dits: That’s the type of batter I’m looking for. Come-on. Surely there are more people who like to deep fry. Give up your family’s secret batter recipe.
http://www.hodgsonmill.com/roi/673/Dons-Chuck-Wagon-Mixes/ I deep fry a lot, and the batter at the bottom is the bomb for any veggies. You mix it with water (or beer) dip and fry.
