That was no accident. That was negligent homicide. Worst case of race official conduct in history: "You guys aren't organized enough to tell me what to do." (Bill Boyce)

The irony is, Hugh had complained about that pit-in set-up and was threatened with having his license pulled for speaking up. After they died, officials did what Hugh had advocated, moving pit-in from mid-straight to the outside of the final turn. As, no doubt, you know, Roger. Were you there that black day?

And this illustrates how far we have come. Back then, you complained and you got threatened with banishment. Now, you complain, they try to do something. The kids have no idea how good they have it.

I thought it was now you complain and people say that you're disrespecting cornerworkers and management and that they have all the answers in the world as to why someone dieing should be an acceptable risk but they just can't tell you because their (or someone elses) lawyer told them to not tell you?

Another one where the track tooks steps to prevent it every happening again.

JU: I was there and I don't disagree, but the circumstances are not an issue here, just the memory. It was indeed a dark day. And Boyce had those young men's blood on his hands. In other countries he may have been criminally prosecuted.
