I know I'm probably not going to like what I hear on this one but here it goes. Using a
new fuel guy I have never used before purchased VP C-12 3 different times from him. (also first time using C-12, used to
use B32) First 3 times fuel is yellow/light straw color. Last time I went he was out
so I bought Sunoco. (bike didn't like it and
it jetted differently) This time I go
back and he has C-12 again. I watch
him pump it out of a VP barrel which
the label says it's C-12, get home and
realize the fuel is blue/purple dyed.
Is C-12 yellow or blue and did I just get poked?

The C-12 I've purchased all year was the blue/purple color.

In the VP brochure, it says that you can have the fuel custom dyed (why, I don't know). It's [b]possible[b] that he sold you some from a custom dye lot.

I guess from now on, either buy the sealed containers (5, 15, 30, 55 gallons are available) or make sure you witness him pumping from the C-12 barrel.

That's what scares me. I watched him pump all 4 batches I have bought and they all
came from VP C-12 barrels. The stuff I could find online last night said teh color was
green? I am buying sealed drums from now on.

Emmett,

I am also located in Houston and run a 125GP class bike. What year and make 125 do you run?

I have purchased two of the sealed five gallon containers from a dealer here in the D/FW area. When a can was first opened the fuel (VPC12) was a blueish color. After about a month or so the fuel lost it's color and has gone to a straw color. I opened the second container and it has the blueish tint. Perhaps the batch you first purchased had been opened for awhile and the "air" had affected the fuel; the color of the fuel anyway. (shrug)

BTW, Both cans were purchased early to mid june; before the round at Hallett.
