Well, there I was, turn 3, Gingerman, trying to get around a couple of bikes in the lightweight solo 20 on Saturday, thinking "just get into 3rd to recoop some $$$" I approached turn 3 tight inside of 2 other bikes outbraking them, back hard on the throttle and then BAM!!!! started to slide and up and over I went. I landed pretty hard on the pavement and then attempted to crawl off into the grass to get out of the line. I laid there doing a body check and then went to sit up and the corner worker wouldnt let me, but everytime I lifted my head, all I saw was speeding bikes coming around that corner thinking if another goes down, he's going right over top of me. I wanted to roll farther out of the way but they would let me move. Why did it take 2 laps to red flag????? I have no clue. The bike may not look so good anymore but it still runs the same. My ankles sure dont look the same anymore, and i'm not quite running the same, infact its for of a gimpy kind of limp aided by 2 (I'm sure) $1000 puny crutches. I wont make it to Atlanta but I am still planning on attending the rest of the Putnam/Nelson race (Pending Judge Wife's Executive Decision on fun factor vs. injured new daddy ratio) Anyway, I just want to thank everyone who stopped by concerned on how I was and making suggestions on how to fix the bike. Esp. Mike Reynolds, Tony Wright, Greg Gabis (also his wifes breakfast), Mary and Ed, and the mysterious "Welding Guy" from down the access road that did a bang-up job on my rearset and exhaust bracket. Its nice to find out you have so many friends you never knew about. I am ordering a new pipe today so the bike will be ready to go for Nelson next round. Bud light cans only work for a quick fix!!! Thanks again for everyones help. Now if I could only convince my wife that the amount of scrathes on the bike don't determine what "condition" the bike is in!!!!!
