Mongo-

What's up with the TBA date? When can we expect to get a date or are we just going to do the same format as always, just one round short? It would be great to know soon as the guys need to set up time off for work and such. This is almost getting ridiculous.

Do you not think we would tell you as soon as we knew something? Give me a break...

Sean,

I didn't realize that you didn't want anyone to know where the last round is scheduled. I already told Jim and Melissa but I won't tell anyone else.

Good choice though. We love that track.

Oh #@%$*^&! I didn't know it was supposed to be a secret. I already told Scott. He's excited, he's never been to that track but he's heard nothing but good things about it.

I won't tell anyone else.

Mongo said it was a secret, didn't you listen? Atleast he told me to keep hush hush. His last words were, "Tell anyone and the bike gets it..." http://www.wera.com/ubb/eek.gif

I wonder if we'll get the rain like the world superbike guys did this passed weekend. Hey, Target is also having a sale on passport photos this week too. Mongo, will we still race in the rain there?

Okay, it's been absolutely hilarious to watch this one but I have to tell the truth now (don't want anyone making any firm plans based on rumor and innuendo) - the TBA is still a TBA. If I can't get something set in the next two weeks we'll go back to plan B (sorry but plan B is super secret - I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you).

If that is the case, if we go to Canada, what exactly are we to expect as far as crossing the boarder back into the US? Are we all going to run into problems when we all have race based machines and all sorts of equipment with no receipts and racing fuel? Just wondering what we could be in for.

Be prepared to show everything you have in the truck and trailer. They always grill us when I go across the border for work. Just have the story straight for all occupants. We usually have one co-worker that stumbles under the pressure and about gets us caught everytime we sneak goodies back into the US.

We need some of you Canadians out there to help us. I myself will have a camera and some luggage. I am just a sight seer going to take pictures of the Caribou. I could probably squeeze Two cans of Caribou Bait (God how they love the smell of Nutec) into my rental vehicle.

I would guess I won't have any problems at the border. The Lizards look like a bunch of rejects so they are going to be in for a heep of trouble. And good Lord those Army guys will spend hours trying to explain themselves.

Brian H. call Joe he should be able to help you get across he has done it 10 or a thousand times.

DOn't stress over it yet - it's not a done deal.

However, even if it does happen it's really easy to go in and out. After all the teams running the Endurance out of Canada do it all the time and no one has been arrested for smuggling XXX yet....

TO be totally honest with you, be more prepared for the US Customs. They will probably want proof that the equipment you're bringing back is actually equipment that you took out. With the Canadian $$ so low, people buy stuff here to smuggle to the states - cars, bikes, boats,.... Get an export certificate for anything of value or you could end up paying inport duties on your own stuff - which would suck big time!!!

Let's not get too worked up in case WERA doesn't do Canada, but just in case, how does one go about getting an export certificate?

Contact US customs - they have official forms. For a race team and all the stuff it might be a little easier to make a list of everything you're bringing out of the US and stop at the customs building at the border. Go inside and get an officer to sign it - they may want to do a spot audit but I doubt it. When you re-enter the US, you'll have a signed document that you can show customs if they question you.

When my sister moved from Northern BC back to Toronto, she did this because she cut through the US - Canadian customs had no problems when they re-entered in Windsor.

I hope this helps.

Mike.
