I want to drag my friend with me to WERA races this year. Which classes could he ride a Husaberg 650 supermotard? To be competitive? To ride up? Thanks for the input.

I'm going to try something different with the schedule after the popularity of DSS at Talladega and run the DSS class with 125's and CLubman and run the SM class with DSB. So, he'll be able to ride the Super Motard class, and then ride up to Clubman.

Thanks, Sean. What about LW Twins? or Heavy? I know he says that SV's can keep him behind, someplace like Putnam. But he might be able to fight his way through. Is this a good "ride up" class? Anything at a National?

Wasn't there a lot of cross-over between D Superstock and Clubman? I was really hoping to have those two classes to ride, but it sounds like now we'll have to ride up to D Superbike. Any chance of changing your mind?

Ditto this statement, DSS and Clubman is what was planning to race this year....

I'm going to probably keep playing with it until we get it right. My problem is that we're essentially adding another separate race to an already overcrowded schedule, I was hoping to not have that happen.

I am curious - what's wrong with riding up to D Super? Or was it that the bikes are competitive in both DSS and Clubman?

Jim - yes he can ride in LWT as long as he's within the 125% rule.

Yeah it was the competitive thing in two classes, for me its a TZR that I was planning to race. I've spoke to a couple other guys with EX's(like I used to race) that were also excited about having two competitive classses. The Hawk guys might say the same thing too.

We realize its a tough call on your end...keep up the good work.

Nothing wrong with riding up to D SB. That was my original plan before D SS existed. I'm not too thrilled about riding with the swarm of SVs, but they'll be in any other class I could race - LWT, F2.

I understand the scheduling issue. It just seems like running Clubman and DSS together will dilute the fields in each class.

At least now that we've fixed the sick NSR it may be somewhat competitive against Superstock legal SVs. I knew it was bad at the TGPR weekend. We dyno'd it when we got home - 26hp :( After a new battery, replaced coil & plug cap and re-jetting it kicked up to 58.5hp. I was just hoping that'd be enough to put me close to Jamie's RZ and Lance's Duc! I didn't like running around at the back of the pack dicing for last.

My thoughts exactly.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

So, Mongo, is that how it's gonna be (clubman and DSS together) for Barber? I was gonna send in my entrance fees but now I guess I need to find out about this first.

Thanks

No idea right now, if you send in for both and they are run together we'll refund cash at the event.

Please do not combine Clubman and DSS. I'm a Hawk guy, and welcome the two competitive classes for my Hawk.

It seems to me that there's a lot of crossover between DSS and Clubman and running them together would dilute the fields.

Hate to sound like a fool, but what is the 125% rule?

That means that my pal better not ride lap times that are 125% slower than the SV's. But I don't think we need to worry about that, he'll only have a problem on some of the straights.
