Free bump for ya, nice bike!
What size front and rear tires were you able to squeeze on? How are the rearsets and clipons? I'm wanting to get mine a little more track ready, thanks for any help.

Why not look elsewhere instead of making a crack. I am always amazed with comments insulting someone's asking price. Make him an offer like he says. Although we know you have no interest; you just prowl the BBS to amaze us with your knowledge and opinions.
BTW: put together a new 250r with the stuff he has on it and you will run close to 8k. It's a year old, and I bet he'd budge on price. It's a great ride for someone looking to run the E class. Even if you buy salvage you'd run close to or over 5k getting it setup like the bike here, and that's without the dyno and tuning. You may have read that this is a class winning bike? Turnkey winners have value.

Those aren't the mods on Bikeroni's bike, and as you are new to the WERA BBS, you will learn stupid gets instant response unlike many streetbike/stunta forums.

Perhaps you or the owner could emplain to me what is so magical about this bike for sale and how it's worth what a well set up 07 600 can be had for.
from my reading you can't do jack as far as mods to these bikes and have them legal other than bodywork, pipe and pegs.
as far as the bike.. I don't care if you bought it brand new (silly for a race bike since it seems you cut off the kick stand if I read correctly) for $4000 you wouldn't have $5800 into it before you rode it the first time.
Oh, and the fact it's a used race bike..
maybe the fact that i figured out how to search on this website.
Fell free to educate me. I just showed some intrest and asked a question then got jumped all over..
i'm just trying to learn, but ehy if it's such a great deal i'm sure it will be sold before i'm ready to buy in a couple weeks.
If you can show me were $5800 comes from i would appriciate all you could teach me

Sorry, I gotta side with the new guy. The only reason I looked into this thread was because I saw "250 Ninja" and "$5800" and thought "Really?? Must be some bike, I gotta see this."
That's not to say that it isn't worth it to somebody. If someone likes to ride but not wrench, a fully sorted proven package can be worth more than the sum of its parts. But to express surprise at an asking price roughly 50% over sticker on a new 250R when the mods performed are simply tuned bolt-ons with some spare sprockets...I don't think that's completely out of line. And even if it had been, did you really have to jump all over the guy, mmfoor?
You claim that "stupid gets an instant response" on the WERA BBS, but I'm not sure I want you speaking for me anyway. :stupid:
I gotta side with the "old guy"...
If you have a question about price, use the PM feature. This thread is ruined for this sale; from my POV it seems that any prospective buyers are now going to shy away from this bike because of Spa Get Ee Cat's original comment.
Tough luck BikerRoni. Good like with finding a new home!

What's funny about this is that usually when I see somebody commenting on a price it's a more "veteran" board member suggesting that the "newbie" seller is asking too much (something like, "Son, you're new here so lemme just give you a tip...you're never gonna get that much for that bike").
I don't necessarily think there's anything wrong with keeping sellers honest in terms of their asking prices. Discussing what certain bikes and packages should reasonably cost is valid. After all, this is a fourm, not just a classified listing. And Spa's challenge allows the seller to then come back and recount more information about how his bike came together, possibly improving the rationale for his asking price, or even making it seem like a bargain!
What I think is damaging here is jumping on a new member over what is, at worst, a minor offense, calling them "stupid" and basically saying they should shut their mouth. We may have just lost a new member now.
As for BikerRoni, I bet s/he's not disturbed by this at all...we're keeping their listing at the top of the thread sheet.

I just want to know where spaghetti is getting his $200 Penske shocks. I think I'll put two on my bike for that price.

He might be refering to the modification that LE does by adding a piggy back. Very popular on the west coast and about $200. A $900 Penske seems like overkill for this class but I'm just guessing as I havn't ridden one. Some of his comments may have come from the article SportRider magazine did talking about how they took a brand new 250 off the showroom floor and had it in race trim with good parts for $6000. I'm curious to see how it plays out. Didn't one of these just change hands at a very reasonable price. Out of respect for the seller I won't go into specifics but I think it was raced last weekend??

I could care less who sides with who; it's all giving some bumps. Note for Notbostrom: if you call Lindemann it's closer to $400 for the remote and valving; not the price stated in that mag article.

In case someone missed it , the ad does read "obo " which means "or best offer" . It means you have a choice.
You can -
1) pay the asking price
2) make an offer
If you built a race bike, and decided to sell it, what would it be worth? What is your money, time, sweat, and engineering skills worth? I'm just trying to sell a bike here.
BTW - Thanks for bumps.

Actualy, I did email an offer to you. I never heard back. I'll assume that means no but a return email even to say hell no would have been nice.
either way no harm in a free bump

In Tony's defence, I HAVE built a salvage bike and KNOW what it cost's.
No guessing here, I've got 4800.00 in a '08 salvage bike.
No Penske, no extra cush drive and I painted it myself (Hotbodies, cheaper than Catylist comp) no dyno time and all work done by me. (2000.00 diff.)
And Salvage bikes have hidden damage, dent in frame and bent rotor and caliper mount bracket that I didn't find till later.
