People usually have these sitting around.
I had about 10 of them and I left my box at NJMP at the track day and they were gone by the time I turned around to grab my spare parts box.
Go to a local machine shop and buy a 6 foot rod of 6061-T6 aluminum, and have them cut you however many you want, should be cheaper that way.
Just checked on pricing for 6061-t6 tubing, and it is about 2.50 a foot.

I think you need end caps for them to pass tech but I'm not sure and don't feel like checking the rule book right now. :D
End caps are cheap, plus it would still be cheaper than buying individual bars

I just spoke to Vortex and they said the caps are 1.60 a pair.
12.80 for 8 sets plus shipping.
15.00 for a 6 foot tube
--------
27.80 plus shipping
I need to know the measurement of the inside of the original Vortex bar?
Thanks

Why couldn't you use them? Rulebook does not say you can't make your own. Just wondering.

6063-T5 Aluminum Alloy
Round Tube .875" O.D. .437" I.D. (.219" Wall)
8 foot length
$31.01
They don't show an appropriate size in the stronger 6061 material. Im not sure the 6063 would be adequate strength-wise. The .219" wall should help though.
Might be worth a look.

Are these the measuraments of the original Vortex bars?

It's 7/8 inch (.875") aluminum tube. Just a possible alternative. I don't have a Vortex specific bar here at work to determine the exact ID. The O.D. (outside diameter) is the critical dimension, the others may vary slightly. The composition of the alloy determines the wall thickness.
As I said above, it might be worth a look. Ya' gotta take a chance once in a while dude. You are always are asking for things. Go out, spend some $$ and test it and let us know the result. Give a little back. :)

Will do.. Just ordered one bar. Will give info when I get it...
By the way, I was asking for some bars to buy them and 2Fer came up with the idea of making them.
Thanks
