I really didn't want my first post to be my bike for sale
but I didnt' see an intro forum:p

I'll just link the ad on CRAIGS LIST rather than taking
up board space. But I will post some eyecandy to catch
an eye. I really would rather trade for a 05-08 Speed Triple
but will take cash:D. Also, I have no problem shipping with
Forward Air seems they know what they are doing. With
as many extra parts that I have for the bike it will take me
about the same amount of time to box them up as it would
for your check to clear before shipping. I have many of the
resto pics upon serious requests.

Thanks for passing the sale along guys/gals. I would without
a doubt keep it if I could ride it in comfort. I was struck by a
steel cable on my back about the belt line and was nearly cut
in half. So, rather than give up the sport all together I tested
several bikes finding the Speed Triple to be the easiest for me
to handle in my condition. If I could just buy a Speedy and
keep the NC I would, and wish I could.

How does everyone get theirs street legal? I brought one back from Germany, but it just sits in my garage in MD waiting for track days.

The process seems to go better in Ohio! The two that I have plus my Ex's CBR400rr were tittle (initially) in Ohio.

I told them mine was a 1973 VFR and you dont need a title you just go and get a tag and the plus side is they only have 10 digit numbers and so do bike of the early 70's, there are no records either (at least not in alabama for bikes that old). I got a tag without them looking at it and i got insurance for what it is worth by using the tag reciept and getting an appraisal from a local bike shop.

Bump to the top.

I just had a fellow ask me how many miles it has on it. Most of the
time I don't say because, honestly no way to know if the clock on
the bike is the OEM clock. How does this sound, a bit over 13000km,
hmmm now thats what 405.8miles per year, the bike had its 20th
birthday this year. I think one could say it has extream low mileage.

Reggie,
I had a good idea I would really like the S3 based on the seat and
more upright riding position, the icing on the cake was how nice
everyone was to me. Oh and having one on demo helped too:)

Getting any grey market product titled varies from state to state. The trick is to do it correctly so that the resale of the vehicle keeps its resale value or increases. In Bama you have to apply for the title, the state then makes you get two quotes from dealers who sell the vehicle. Those documents are then sent to the states DMV, they intern send you an application for a Surety Bond. You have to then take that to your insurance co (in my case) to get the Surety Bond. Send those to the states DMV and wait (in my case 2 years) to be approved for a title.

I honestly think the process is so differently between states is
due to how many titles of that type the states DMV approve.
You can go to the DMV's web page and pull court case codes
and attach that to your application to help them speed up the
process. Needless to say, I have learned nearly as much about
getting one titled as I did how to put one together. I'm about to
work on getting a title for an RC30 that should be a trick.

Doing it that way will get you a tag but IMHO having one
that has the correct year, correct VIN, and paper title will
help your sale and increase the bikes value. I may could
help you get yours corrected if you ever wish to do so. I
still have all contact info for the people in BAMA's DMV
office. The head chic in charge:cool:

Unless it was never titled or registered. My buddies wasn't
ever titled so trying to explain to them what kind of title is
the key. The wrong kind of title and you couldl loose
thousands at resale. He has all the orig paperwork from when
the bike was purchased new. I think we may go the route of
it was once a track bike but now is road legal.

I have lowered the price of the NC to 6k. I have
also set up a photo album with tons of pics both
sides and some of the restoration. This baby needs
a new home. I rode it this past weekend 160 twisty
miles and had to get shots in my back on Tuesday
from the ride. Price I pay to play due to a work
related injury:down:

I have taken a deposit on mine. If full payment isn't
made this week it will once again forsale. The asking
price is 6500. The current buyer won it on Ebay for
6600.

Long drive from Alaska though:)

Just passing along the bike is still for sale. The person
that won it at auction ended up being a DEADBEAT
bidder and did not follow through with payment.

So, if your still interested its still for sale. I would
like to also say it now has ZERO miles on new
fluid change. Also, I found some rock chips in the
lower fairing (when doing the oil change) so I
repainted the red and white portions of that fairing.
So, it now looks like new again.
