98 MZ Skorpion
This is a great Clubman bike and I’ve been keeping it thinking if I ever got back into racing I’d race it again but it just doesn’t look like that will be happening anytime soon so I’m selling it to buy something I can ride on the street. The chassis is done up with GSXR forks and clamps with a Marvic front wheel and Vortex clip-ons to hold on to. In the back are a Penske shock and a 5” F3 wheel. The motor inhales through a pair of 39mm Keihin FCRs feeding an extensively ported head. Valves are actuated by a big Megacycle cam with R&D springs and Ti retainers keeping everything under control. Hi compression J&E piston provides the squeeze while a Barker’s rod and crank job keep vibes to a minimum and a high revving CDI box lights it all off without ending the party too soon.
The under cut tranny shifts like butter and all the noise exits through a pair of Barkers pipes. The stock starter is intact since I don’t like push starting bikes. The small on board battery will start the bike when warm but a jump is needed when things are cold and the oil is thick. I went a little over board with the tach on this and got a Mychron 3 Gold dash/data logger. It is currently setup to log only wheel speed, water temp, lap time and gyro. It can have more sensors added and has enough memory to log for a couple hours.
Included with the bike: a set wheels with rain tires, extra gearing and bunch of stock parts including the stock street fairing.
Located in Orlando, FL
Asking $4500 with the Mychron 3 $4000 without.

If you might be looking for an interesting trade, I have a rare Yamaha for sale at another site. I've always wanted a Skorpion. Here's the link. Thanks

I kinda have my heart set on a KTM 690SMC.

No problem. Thanks for the reply. I had almost forgotten about this bike so at least you brought it back to my attention. By the way, if I sell the FZR I'll be calling!
