Hey Gang,
I've been trying to sell these two bikes, my FZR1 and FZR750.
I bought these bikes from Lane Segrest. I'll admit I'm not well-versed in all of the technical aspects, so from my total Novice knowledge bank, here’s what I know about them (I'm trying to get ahold of Lane to get more details/history):
The FZR1 has a YZF swingarm, R6 front and and Sumitomo mono-block brakes, R6 real wheel, 520 chain conversion, Fox shock, GMD Computracked in Atlanta, set up for 185-190 lbs rider. It has a total-loss electrical system. The bodywork is from the 750. If you are familiar with Chip Mayfield, this bike is setup just like his FZR, Zeus.
The 750 is fully functional, except for body work. This bike has a starter. I haven’t looked at it in a while, but I think it’s been race prepped as far as safety-wire holes, etc. The motor just needs to be mounted and rigged. It was removed since it was decided that I was not going to ride this bike, just use it as a spare for frame/chassis parts for the FZ1.
I paid $3500 for both bikes. $2250 for both is a smokin’ deal (you could probably part them out for this much). I would keep them, but being totally honest, vintage racing bikes are always needing some TLC, and I don’t want to do that anymore. The advantage to vintage is it’s pretty much the least expensive way to get into some big bore racing. Somebody needs to pick these up and put them in service, especially the FZR1. As well as this Vintage bike is setup, I hate it that it's just sitting idle.
Thanks,
Randy
