Just released.
L7 Motorsports has the solution to safety wiring your brake pins. We have produced a new pin to replace the OEM part. The new pin is made from stainless steel with a external hex drilled for safety wire. These are the pre production units (made on convetional equipment vs CNC). Pins are available for Tokico and nissin calipers. Pricing is set @ $12.50 per pin and currently only available for the front calipers. Rears are in the works and will be available before the first of the year, were just waiting to get a few more models of bikes in for fitiment. To place an order please email l7motorsports@hotmail.com or call 586-759-4735 9:30am-6pm Eastern time.

Pics are of a CBR1000 w Tokico calipers.

Hey Scott,

Got the GSXR brake pins today! They're really cool, and will make wiring up the calipers effortless, while looking pretty sweet.

I'm sure you'll be glad to know they bolted right up smoothly, with no problems. Frankly, I'm kinda surprised how...ummm...clean they are. Are you sure you're not CNCing these, or did I get a CNC set? Very Trick.

Anyway - thanks for getting them to me so fast!

Let me know if you end up making any more cool stuff like this!

Thanks Bill, More parts are in the works. Your pins were not the CNC version, still working on the programming so I can run 3 different sizes at 1 time.

No Sh*t..they weren't CNC'd? I've seen some good stuff lathe turned, and some real crap. After closer inspection of your brake pins, They're so clean, I guess I'm kinda surprised that they weren't CNC'd!

So how trick are the CNC pins gonna be?!?

As an aside, I was also surprised at the flat spots on my OEM pins. Even though the bike is fairly new, I can't imagine that they wouldn't have caused the pads to hang up a bit in the calipers. That alone is enough reason to check & replace them.

Anyway, great stuff! Glad to see that "more parts are in the works." Keep us advised.

All pins that were ordered were shipped. I have had several people ask for a SV650 pin to replace the stocker. A racer just sent his caliper in and those pins are being designed and should be ready for delivery by the end of next week.
If anyone has a special request, I can make it for you.

will these work on the 06-07 R6's?

These will not work on the R1 or R6 as those models have a pin with 2 holes for R-clips. I am working on a different type of pin (brembo style head) for the Yamahas at the moment and have also bought a set of calipers for my own bike that I am going to see if I can modify by putting threads on the one side of the caliper body to have a "bolt" style retaining pin. Check back just after the holidays.

Update......
Thanks to Chris @ Martin Motorsports for sending in the SV 650 calipers. I now have a pin system for that model. I also have a system for the Yamaha calipers. Both bikes will require the caliper to be modified. I will post pricing and pics of the Yamaha stuff late tomorrow. The price for the pins for these models will include all modifications to the calipers and I will have a 1 day turn arround once your calipers are received for modification (example: your calipers arrive on Monday, it ships back out to you on Tuesday).

Ok,
Here are the pics of the Yamaha caliper mod. The R6 and SV650 modified calipers will be priced at $60 plus return shipping. I can also mod the earlier Tokico and Yamaha calipers from the older GSXR's & ZX bikes. Price will include the pins plus modification of the calipers. When you send in your calipers the turn arround will be 1 day (in on Monday out on Tuesday, in Friday out Monday and so on). You can send your calipers only or complete brake system (lines and master, just make sure if you have a remote res. it doesn't leak or you may want to empty the cup). You will get your calipers back - this is not an exchange.

Got the SV calipers back and man they look GOOD!!!!

Just knowing there are no R clips or silicone holding the bolt heads now, makes me feel soooooo much better.

I'll get some pics of these up this weekend for those interested but personally- this is a GREAT service for anyone that wants the extra security:up:

I can't even count how many articles I've read of racers 'losing their brake pads', and some endings not too pretty.

Thanks guys!!!!

Back to the top for Scott and crew at L7 Motorsports:up:

Pics of my new SV 'family jewels'.........these pins are sooooo clean. You'll notice in the middle pic the hole to run the safety wire to, nice and clean. The pic to the right shows the new threads needed to accomodate the threaded pin.

8mm head on the pins make assembly/disassembly a breeze.

Why compromise your life over a $12.50 brake pin?

Sorry for the delay guys, our computer system took a dump and we just got it back up and running, and with prep and odd jobs for Daytona I got a few days behind.

We have pins for just about everything. If not custom pin turnarround is running 3-5 days. We just finished up pins to mod the Brembo HP calipers front and rear. Pics will be up some time next week.

I have been keeping the prices to $12.50 per pin and $35 machining for the calipers that need to be modified, like the Yamaha fronts and the SV rears.

I had a pin back out and lost a pad on the front straight at Blackhawk last year, after having the feeling of no brakes at 140 and luckily surviving the ride into the woods I'll definitely be buying some of these before the season. They should almost be required, I think alot of people don't even think about them, I know I didn't and it could have ended very badly.

Glad to hear your ok, did they have to pull you out of the swamp? The safety issue is why I designed these along with the fact that I had racers that didn't want to drill through their calipers to wire the pins on the GSXRs and Hondas.
When your ready just send the calipers in, don't wait too long as we have been swamped lately with everyone getting ready for the season.

Can you make the pins for ap racing monoblocks (the older two pad kind)
I am using those on 2004 zx10r with the stock rotors. this required me to get special spacers made and the stock caliper bolts are too long...

Email me some pics of the caliper. I have done some custom pins for the Brembo HP calipers, so I think yours should be no problem.

Sorry for any delay in pins, I bought new equipment and have had a few tooling issues that are being worked out. Should have pins shortly. I have a list running with those that are waiting.

Thanks for being patient.
