I bought this bike new in 2002 and rode it on the street for two years. In September 2004 I attend the Cornerspeed school at VIR and was hooked on track riding. I did an additional track day on the bike in October and then decided to buy a dedicated track bike, which I did the following month.
Since then I have put VERY FEW street miles on the Ducati due to track days and eventually racing. In 2007, I have ridden the bike only twice and feel the need to give the 998 a better home where it will be used more often.
Only serious inquires please. Please contact me at edemattia at yahoo dot com.

We can ship that bike to CA. We're dedicated coast to coast at least twice a month and that bike IS a good deal. Buy yourself an early Xmas gift.
Cannoli, I can't believe you haven't sold that bike yet. Not to offend you, but have you tried eBay or Craig's List? We have at least 5 bikes every trip that someone bought off eBay. Best of luck with your sale.

One sale fell through because the person couldn't get financing. Another because the guy wants the bike essentially for free even after I let him test ride it and he couldn't stop drooling and saying how it's exactly what he is looking for.
This isn't a GSX-R or a Ninja, people. Just one of another 50,000 bikes of it's kind.
eBay is ass. I would have to jack the price up just to recoup the 15%, or whatever it is their charging now. Just not worth it as I don't need to sell it but would like to to free up some cash in a bike I don't hardly ever ride. Hell, I should just sit on it and charge another $1000 more come Spring.
If you know you want the bike, then you see it and ride it and find it's EXACTLY as I said it was, what's the problem? I hate selling stuff.... :(

15%---that does suck! I had no idea they charge so much just to use their site. Try Craigslist, I know alot of customers buy from there and I heard it's free. I haven't read everything again, but I got the impression your in the NE. A trend we are seeing in transporting bikes is that sales from the West (CA, AZ, NV) are slowing down going to the NE. Obviously, you don't have to be a genius to figure it out that weather plays a big part. However, we get overbooked each trip on bikes going from the NE to the West or South. I think all those guys have figured out that they'll same some $$ buying from up North where the sales are slower. All that to say that you may want to put your bike on Craigslist in CA or even TX where the buying is pretty good right now. Good luck with your sale.

At this point, yes. I'm bringing it to a local shop for a tech inspection on the potential buyers dime. But he hasn't given me any money to hold the bike.
