Recent events (and a, ahem, loving spouse) have convinced me that at 40+ I’m never going to realize my big dream of a MotoGP sponsored ride, so I’m getting out of racing and going back down to be a track day savant. Meanwhile, I have a very sweet SV650 superbike that I have to sell because it would be a total freakin’ waste to run it as a track-day bike.

2000 Suzuki SV650 Superbike with following mods:
2004 GSXR 750 forks with 10mm internal spacers (for SV) and racetech parts
2004 Yamaha R1 monobloc calipers w/ Vesrah SRJL pads
320MM Braking Wave Rotors
19x18 Brembo master cylinder
Penske twin-clicker shock
5.5 inch rear rim conversion
M4 full exhaust
Typical assortment of Woodcraft clip-on’s, pegs, lightweight fairing stay, 520 chain with spare gearing, SS lines, etc.

But the BIG MOD:
93 HP Engine built to following specs:
41mm Flatslides
Carrilo H beam rods
high polished & balanced Falicon crank
+3 mm bore & pistons
MegaCycle cams 08/010 grind
+1mm SS valves
Yosh springs & retainers
APE billet cam adjusters
APE cam sprockets
FBG under cut transmission Up/Down
Some lightened internal gears
modified oil pump +10 psi
ported heads
all new cam chains, bearings & gaskets
Double head gasket, so “comfortably” low compression – this is not a hand-grenade engine

Cost to build this engine starting with a donor motor? Quotes run $6000+ Only 3 race weekends on bike (total of 6 races): Heartland Park, MAM and Hastings. Podium finishes every race. See GRON4 pics from Heartland Park at http://www.gron4.com/2008/042708/amt/171/

Spares:
Stock motor & carbs
parts motor
Original forks setup for a 180lb rider by Traxxion
Original rear rim
Set of Bridgestone rains with 1 race on them
Box of stuff including numerous brake disks, extra set of carbs, stands, other “stuff”

Asking $7000 for the lot of it.

Parting is such sweet sorrow….

What do you anticipate the rebuild/maintenance schedule of this motor to be?

What brand/octane fuel do you run and tune with?

Consider any track bike trades? :)

What number is on the bike? Not sure what pictures are yours.....

Rebuild schedule probably calls for a refresh at a year to year and a half, but really depends on number of races and practices run. I just built the bike this year, and the motor only has 6 practice sessions and 7 individual races on it.

Has always been run on VP4.2

Already have a ZX6R track bike, thanks anyway!

It's #171, the one without any air intake in the middle of the fairing (some of the pics were of the SV, others of the ZX).

Thanks!

Bike also has a clean Iowa title.

Not that you'd ever want to put plates back on it...

^ I dont know man. I've ridden a bone stock SV650, and that was hairy eyeball fun as it was, now I am curious to see what a 95hp SV is like.

Sure...

You got guys running with built motors on 600cc bikes making 105-115 hp.

I highly doubt an SV650 even with motor work would make 95HP. Heck 85HP i'd still believe - but 95?

:wow:

He says 93, not 95. A 600 with similar mods (did you miss the part about 3mm overbore and big valves?) would be at what... 130+ ? Anyway, this would be a discussion for a new thread in General, not in here crapping on this guys sale...

93hp is a lot for a sv but not unheard of with the list of mods he has listed

I just put mine on a factory pro dyno today and my bike made 89hp with a 2mm overbore and most all of the same parts.

Okay, maybe the 95 made a better head line number, but the actual result came out to 92.9 HP. I'll dig up the dyno sheet from April of this year to post up.

I believe it was on a Dynojet Dyno which, from what I've heard, will normally post up higher numbers than Factory Dynos. It was a surprise to me when the same day, same dyno, saw the ZX636 (Lockhart Phillips commander and Akrapovic system) put out only 108.

90+hp out of a 700cc kit is very doable.

Matt,

If you only knew what you where talking about when it comes to sv's

I think the one I had was putten out............say 102 hp, which is why I won most of my races.

Well according to all competitors against MB MOTORSPORTS.

By the way Moe stick to instructing.

Shit man, your supersport sv made 108, we just never told you. We wanted you to THINK you were a good rider. Confidence is everything in racing and when we found you working at that elementary school cleaning up puke piles you had none. The superbike you rode had 116hp, I hate to break it to you like this but you need to know, it was the bike not your skills.

After 6 years of instructing I have retired. Im now a consultant for a company that develops computer chips that can be surgically implanted in people with no conficence or self esteem. I have some more bad news, you were the first patient for this technology, this and our motors is how you won all those races and championships. Your last name isnt Champion either, its an implant as well. Im mean c'mon, who has a name like Champion that happens to think he is a really really good motorcycle racer? Your real last name is Goober.

You would be dead wrong my friend. Ive got two 95 hp SV's in the garage and they are 2mm over with less than 13.5:1 compression and oem cams. If a decent builder did this motor I would be suprised to only see 92-95.
