I'm posting this for a friend.
This bike was built in 05 for Simon Turner (ex-250gp AMA guy) to race in AMA SS. He raced it some, and Clint McBain (Canadian Superbike guy) raced it a couple of times. The built motor was removed for freshen-up, and circumstances changed, Clint wasn't available to ride, and the bike sat. The motor was redone, but not installed. Eventually somebody needed a motor, so the motor was sold. The bike sat motorless for quite a while.
Last season, a low miles (under 1500) stock street motor was installed, and the bike was put back together. Since then it's done 2 or 3 race weekends, and 2 track day weekends. That's it. This is a fresh, fast, 100% best-of-everything ready to race bike.
The bad (there isn't much):
The bodywork is servicable, but it's spray-bombed the ugliest shade of blue ever. It needs paint. The tank has a small-ish dent. But, I have a perfect, OEM black tank that goes with it.
The swingarm has some scratches, and one gouge where the right rearset bent into it in a low-side. But, that swingarm also has a really cool captive brake setup for fast tire changes. In any case, I have a perfect, unscratched and unmodified swingarm that will go with it too if you want to switch.
That's it.
The good (lots)
The motor is tight as a drum, has very little time on it, and is fast. It's bone-stock, so it will last.
If you had the bodywork painted black, and swapped the tank and swingarm, you'd have a very sharp bike.
This bike was set up by pros...it handles amazingly well...it's the only 05 R6 I've ever ridden that I like as well as I liked my 03.
Parts:
GMD forks w. RaceTech valving
Pensky triple shock, revalved by GMD
Ohlins linear steering damper
Braided steel brake lines
Power Commander mapped for U4 (runs great on pump)
Hindle Titanium pipe: this is a one-off 'factory' pipe made in 05 for Pascal Picotte's Canadian Supersport R6 (really)
Graves slide stops
Graves velocity stacks
NRC case covers
Vortex clip-ons
Woodcraft rearsets
Vortex fairing stay
DID race o-ring chain
Vortex spricets
Sharkskins bodywork (needs a little tlc but not bad...usable as-is fo sho)
Also comes with a bucket of spares...
Perfect black tank w. oem paint
perfect unmodified, uscratched swingarm
(2) spare radiators
wiring harness
throttle bodies
(2) ECUs
stock rearsets
more...I don't remember everything that's in there
After riding this bike, I decided to buy it for myself to race in MW Senior Superbike, and to do track days. But, some things changed and I couldn't afford to buy it, so I'm selling it for my buddy. T9 give you a frame of reference, this was last fall, and at the time I agreed to pay $5400, because it was well worth it. Since that weekend, it's done exactly one trackday weekend. Hell, it's still got the same tires on it that I got it with.
I am confident that there is not a better 600 for sale on here for less than $6,000. It's really that good. If you just want a trackday bike, this is your bike. Smooth, fast, reliable, and inexpensive.
$4350
Will come with clear title (bank has to get paid off)
The bike is in storage at the moment, and I don't have pics of it. It looks exactly like a 2005 R6 with some ugly-ass blue race bodywork on it.
