I'm trying to sell this bike for a buddy of mine who just won't agree to putting a 500 engine in it. He bought it from my brother so I know this bike very well (I did all of the work on it). My friend is done with MX and wants to buy a KTM 300 for offroad only.
Has less than 2 hours on new Wiseco piston with other new or near new parts including: Renthal bars/grips, UFO plastic, OEM graphics, complete fork rebuild w/Honda fork oil, wave rotors, o-ring chain & sprockets, chain slider & guide (OEM), gear shifter (OEM), IMS Pro Series footpegs, FMF Gnarly pipe w/shorty silencer, Pro-Action rebuilt shock and Twin Air filter.
Asking $1,900.00. You can PM me here or email at hrcracing@bellsouth.net . Jacksonville, Florida.
Thank you.
PS: The picture does no justice to how clean this bike is. It's VERY low-hour. My brother put maybe 4 hours on it and my friend has ridden it once.

If you'd like to convert a bike to a CR500AF, this is by far the easiest to do. I have a PDF that I'll supply with step by step instructions and you can buy a kit from bannedcr500riders.com that includes the front mounts, headstay, coil bracket, swingarm bushings, etc.
I have a '04 CR500AF and can tell you from experience that they are the ultimate dirtbike.

Where can you get a CR500 or KX500? I have been looking for a good 500 for years.

I'd check Cycle Trader, cr500riders.com, bannedcr500riders.com, craigslist, thumpertalk.com's classifieds, etc. We have a local paper called the Coastal Trading Post. If you have something like that, check it as well.
They are getting harder to find for sure and, when a good one shows up, it doesn't last long. It's a real good way to do a conversion though as you can part out the rest of the bike for $1k or so.

That is a beautiful bike for the year. If it had the 500 conversion, I would be interested

If it had the conversion, I wouldn't be asking $1,900.00 for it. ;) The Gen 1 Honda's are really easy to convert. You could convert this thing in a weekend.
I have a '04 Service Honda CR500AF and, IMO, the AF's are the ultimate dirtbike!
You could buy this bike for $1,900.00 then sell the engine, carb, pipe/silencer and electronics to fund your 500 engine, etc. A new SH CR500AF costs around $10K, you could have one for around $2.5K.

That's to much work for me.
I would rather just buy something and ride it. I work on my race bike enough.
Great bike

That's cool. I'd rather do it, or most of it, myself and pocket the difference. To each his own.
